General safety regulations

  • Only use the fan for its intended purpose, see the installation and operating instructions enclosed with the fan.
  • Use personal protective equipment (protective clothing, hard hat, protective goggles, etc.) for your own protection in the event of possible hazards. Pay attention to the applicable safety and accident prevention regulations.
  • Safety devices are designed for your safety. Never bypass or tamper with the safety devices.

DANGER

  • Do not deposit combustible materials, liquids or gases near the fan → In case of ignition or fire, hazardous substances may enter the rooms with the ventilation.
  • Never operate the fan in an explosive atmosphere or in combination with a lab extraction unit → Risk of explosion due to explosive gases and dusts.
  • Grease and oil vapours from range hoods may soil the fan and air ducts and reduce efficiency. Never use fan to convey these substances→ unit damage.
  • Risk of death from carbon monoxide when operating with air-ventilated fireplaces. Ensure sufficient supply air intake when operating with air-ventilated fireplaces. Observe the maximum permitted pressure difference of 4 Pa. This model always requires the approval of a regional master chimney sweep.
  • Choking hazard if packaging materials are swallowed. Keep foil materials and small parts away from children.

WARNING

  • Before removing covers and installing the electrics, switch off all supply circuits and secure them against being accidentally switched back on. Position a visible warning sign.
  • Fan does not satisfy standard DIN 18017-3 for single air extraction systems. Do not use in systems in accordance with DIN 18017-3.
  • Note the insulation of connected ducts and ventilation channels.
  • Provide for sound insulation measures for ducts and ventilation channels. Use tubular sound absorbers to reduce noise emissions or for acoustic insulation. Recommendation: Insulate the channels sufficiently to prevent diffusion.
  • Never use the fan to convey chemicals or aggressive gases/vapours → Risk to health if these substances are spread throughout the rooms.
  • Operate the fan only with original components → Risk of injury and risk to health in case of modifications or conversions or if non-approved components are used. Changes and modifications are not permitted and release the manufacturer from any guarantee obligations and liability, e. g. if the housing is drilled at a point which is not permitted or when stepped grommet is used.
  • Secure work areas against unauthorised entry, falling and falling objects → Risk of injury/equipment damage if the fan or an object falls during installation, removal, cleaning, maintenance or repair. Pay attention to the applicable accident prevention regulations.

CAUTION

  • Clean the fan at regular intervals, especially after a longer period of standstill → Risk to health due to deposits on the unit (mould, germs, dust, etc.) after a longer period of standstill.

ATTENTION

  • Install the fan in accordance with the planning specifications → Operation contrary to the intended purpose if the fan is incorrectly or improperly installed. Operation is only permitted with a correct installation position, with mounted cover and external protective grille. The fan may be operated only if the protection against accidental contact with the impeller is guaranteed to be in accordance with DIN EN ISO 13857.
  • Never operate the fan during the construction phase. Fan and ducting can become dirty and damage the fan.
